WHAT THE DI LEO: Furniture Shopping

Black Friday has passed (and Rob and I both had to work) but this year a majority of the sales went through Dec. 1st. We are trying to keep to a tight budget until we close on the house and have been watching the some furniture to see if it would go on sale. So we couldn't help but go this weekend and take advantage of the great deals!

West Elm had up to 25% off your purchase, including furniture and custom pieces. We were able to score our dining room table and new bed headboard. Yay!

We looked at several tables similar to the style we decided on and I'm so happy we landed on this one. We liked the raw look to it and the mix of color coming through on the wood. We also got the matching bench to go on one side and a cushion for it as well. Now, we'll need to work on chairs but will use the ones we have for the time being. Long term, I'd also like to get the matching buffet but that is definitely not an urgent purchase for the house. We should get the table in the next few weeks and I can't wait to set it up. I think our new pendants are going to look awesome over the table!

We also got a headboard for our bedroom. I have wanted an upholstered headboard for as long as I can remember so I'm so pumped about this purchase! We went with the tall tufted headboard and wanted to get a neutral color so got this ordered in oatmeal. We should get it in 8-10 weeks but it's worth the wait.

Getting the furniture this weekend got us really excited about the house which is a pleasant change from the aggravation we've felt over the last few months. I can't wait to get the furniture set up!

To go along with that theme, we got very aggressive with packing this weekend. We have holiday parties the next two weekends and then we move, so we are trying to knock out as much as we can before then. We've gone through a lot and have started a wall of boxes.
