Yep, that's right. The status of our house has pushed yet again. We emailed our PM to confirm the pre-drywall meeting on Monday and ask a few more questions. And we were informed that electric was not completed this past week (seriously?) and that the PM's managers were all in town for a meeting on the situation in our development and he had to push all pre-drywall meetings until insulation on the house was completed. After taking a deep breath...several actually, I responded to him and copied our sales rep. We have emails dating back to Oct 9th saying electric will happen "next week". And the only work down on the house since Oct 9th was pouring our basement floor and 2 inspections, yet we are still told we will close in December. I'm not sure how we continue to keep the same close date when nothing is moving on the house. But again, the PM's managers are saying we will close in December. Needless to say we are extremely frustrated with what is happening.
Now, we can be patient with delays and want our house to be done right but what the heck is going on?! Well our sales rep called us back and gave us the scoop. The PM's managers have been called in to help with the situation because they've never experienced this before. The houses that already have their electric continue to fail inspections. Our sales rep says they are small misses but they are working with a new electrician company who is not used to working with our city. So electricians have to keep coming back and fixing the misses waiting for inspection, etc. That being said, she believes they all passed inspections this week and we should start to see progress. She is confident we will still close in December since the Ryan Homes managers are bringing in extra resources to finish. She is meeting with our PM to regroup what the exact status of our house is. And I let her know that the more clear our PM can be with what THE SITUATION is the better. I mean really, are you in the secret service? - tell us what is going on. Rather than saying we have a situation we will see progress next week. Tell us what this illusive situation is, why its holding our house back, and what the game plan is to fix it. We'll keep you all posted with what happens next!
