Over a week ago, we were hopeful to see some electric installed in the house. We were actually confident that we'd see some headway when we went to the house last weekend. Well, we have a garage door but still no electric. Oh! and a pool of water sitting on the living room floor. awesome. So a couple of things: Rob told me not to worry about the water on the floor (had evidently come in through the open hole around the vent in the master bath), since our PM had told us not to worry. Seems like a valid concern to me, we wouldn't want the wood to rot, but the wood has obviously been exposed to water before and our PM sees this happen all the time, so I guess I'll cool my jets.
And the good old electric, we've been waiting and knew there would be some delay but we just need that and an inspection to get the drywall started! I would be so happy if they just figured out the delays and communicated what the delays were. Our sales rep said the city was short on electricians. Then they had figured the electricians out and it was city inspections causing a delay. Our PM emailed us yesterday and its back to electricians now. So the story is that electricians are figured out and they will be in our house by the end of next week. He is saying they should be able to complete electric in 2 days and then we will continue with the inspection, insulation, and finally the drywall meeting. Our sales rep is assuring us that there should be no further delays and believes we will be celebrating Christmas in our new house.
Things are definitely slow moving right now, at least they feel that way. The good news is they are still working on what they can while we wait on these big ticket items. It sounds like plumbing passed inspection, so they can begin to pour the basement. And our PM is also hopeful that we will be able to pour the driveway before the ground freezes - yay! Oh, and we have a beautiful garage door installed :) Thats all we have for now, as usual, trying to stay positive and optimistic!
